On November 15, Radhika Jones, the Editor-In-Chief of US media Vanity Fair, appeared on “CBS Morning Plus” and discussed the site’s 2025 “The Hollywood Issue,” an annual spread celebrating Hollywood’s biggest names.

Here, the editor mentioned Lisa’s controversial appearance on the Hollywood feature, and explains why the decision to include Lisa was made.

In particular, when asked how she made decisions for which stars to include, Radhika Jones answered, “Take someone like Lisa, who was a huge star in K-Pop world, um, less well known in Hollywood or with a Hollywood audience, but she’s going to be on the White Lotus in the new season. And that, you know, people love that show. So this is our way of saying. Lisa’s incredibly famous, but we’re going to introduce her in a new context, and it’s nice to be able to create that mix.”

“We love to put those kinds of people together and I feel like when you have a mix of people together, in different stages of their career, it lends itself to moments of discovery. You can discover somebody new to you, but you can also rediscover someone you thought you knew”, Vanity Fair’s Editor-In-Chief also added, effectively defending Lisa against criticisms that her appearance on the edition was “unfair”.

Meanwhile, Lisa was previously accused of using her boyfriend’s influence to appear on Vanity Fair’s 2025 “The Hollywood Issue”.

At the time, people believed that compared to established actors on the spread, Lisa has no notable acting credentials, and questioned if her rumored boyfriend, Frédéric Arnault – a prominent figure in the luxury fashion industry, might have played a hand in Lisa’s inclusion.
